Repousse panel, \'Royal Barge\'

Majestically gliding through the waters of the Chao Phraya River, the Sri Suphannahongs royal barge echoes the grandeur of the Thai kingdom. Thiva Boonnak replicates its beauty in this aluminum repousse� panel, featuring sailors working the gold oars. Manned by at least 50 oarsmen, the first Sri Suphannahongs is said to have sailed during the reign of King Mahachakrapadi, between 1548-1568. The latest version of this spectacular boat was built in 1911 and is reserved for special occasions like the transportation of religious relics, or the celebration of Bangkok\'s bicentennial.
